Compress Image to 100KB

Shrink any photo to under 100 KB while keeping it sharp

How to reduce an image to 100KB

  1. Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF onto the box above.
  2. The target is already Under 100 KB. The compressor tries real encodings and keeps the best quality that fits.
  3. Compare the preview with your original, then download.

100 KB is enough for a sharp picture on any screen. In our test a 1.5 MB, 3549 × 4730 phone photo came out at 97 KB and 832 × 1109 pixels — plenty for a profile photo, a product listing or a document upload.

JPG, PNG or WebP?

With the format on Auto, JPG and WebP stay in their format, and PNG or GIF become WebP, which keeps transparency at a fraction of the size. If the site you are uploading to only accepts JPG, choose JPG under Format before downloading.

When 100KB is the right size

  • Online applications with a 100 KB photo or document limit.
  • Website images that should load quickly on mobile data.
  • Marketplace and classified listings with many photos.

Need something smaller? Try Compress JPEG to 50KB, or enter any size under Custom size.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce photo size to 100KB without losing quality?

Some quality is always traded for size, but this tool keeps the highest quality that fits under 100 KB and reduces pixel size only when the picture would otherwise turn blocky. At 100 KB most photos look the same as the original on a phone or laptop screen.

Does it work for PNG screenshots?

Yes. In Auto they are saved as WebP, which is much smaller than PNG. Choose JPG if your site needs it.

Is there a limit on how big the original can be?

No fixed limit. Very large images take a few seconds longer because the work happens on your device.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
